GAMING IS NOW MAINSTREAM!

The days when gaming was the preserve of a nerdy niche of "the great unwashed" operating in dimly lit bedrooms away from any one else and the real world are now long gone. The reason there is a market for the furniture produced by BraZen Gaming Chairs is because gaming is now mainstream! Some observers have compared the rapid rise of gaming as a popular global mass market operation to the emergence of rock n roll in the 1960's. It is amazing to think but it has been claimed that the roots of gaming can be traced all the way back to Harvard, USA in 1972. Hence the current phenomena is not an overnight world wind rise. The tangible initiation of the current developments in gaming can be genuinely traced to Korea in the 1990's. This was the first place where we can see a movement in the gaming industry from participants being hobbyists to becoming competitors. This is now operating on not only a regional but a national and international level. This phenomena is now generally known as eSports. It is currently estimated that there are about 1.7 billion gamers worldwide. In 2014 it is estimated that the global gaming marketplace is worth over £150 billion - and forecast to grow massively between now and 2020. What is very interesting about the gaming marketplace is the changing demographics: 39% of gamers are aged over 36; 32% of Gamers are in the age range 18 to 35 years; and, 29% of gamers are under 18 years of age. The eSports phenomena now has mass market appeal. Gaming is increasingly becoming a mass spectator sport attracting mass audiences and global brands and the money which goes with it. The successful individual gamers and gaming teams are becoming "household" names and effectively achieving rock star status! Many are now professionals with very lucrative earnings to be had. The games that attract such audiences are broad and include the likes of Call of Duty, Counter Strike, POKER, Super Smash BROS4 and League of Legends. The gaming tournaments are global and increasing in number and scale with every week that passes. The gaming tournaments include the likes of ESEA Season 20, NACS, ARMAGEDINBURGH, CEVO Season 7, NLHE and FREEZEOUT Montreal. In summary - gaming is now mainstream!
